Story:
'The Crab' is my graduation film from my master in animation. The story is about a boy who is scared to open up. He views himself as a crab hiding behind his armor. One day his best friend starts breaking this shell. Will he be able to stop running away and confront his feelings?

The animation is quite experimental. It's made with the program Ebsynth.
Character design
This animation is based on footage of real people. It only made sense to then also exaggerate the characters like we see on the runway. Giving the characters such bold outfits that they turn into character designs. The queer themes in the film are also pushed in these designs. With the main character breaking gender norms through his outfits. It is also visible in the background characters who are all based on queer performers.
